Custom Group Courses
We work with families to create engaging courses for their students and community. Courses can be designed for groups of any size. We will find the most appropriate materials, handle registrations and work with all participants to create a schedule that works for everyone.
Assemble a Team
The first step to creating your own course is finding a small group of students who are interested in learning the same material. We most frequently work with students who are in or entering the same school class, but this isn’t necessary! We can create materials and courses for students of all ages and grades, from elementary school up through undergraduate studies.
Choose Your Subject
Just like our individual academic tutoring, we can provide assistance in a number of subjects including math, ELA, and hard sciences. It is not uncommon for groups of students to continuously work with us across multiple years as they progress through their coursework and encounter different subjects with which they require assistance.
Affordable and Flexible
In addition to the flexibility of our subjects, the schedule creation process of group courses is entirely determined by the availability of the students and families within the group. We'll craft a schedule that meets when it needs to: late nights, Sundays, or whenever it works for best for the class. Typically, courses meet once or twice a week, and can even be altered if needed to fit around class exams or projects. Though the price is variable based on the number and length of sessions, we can assure you that customized lessons of this nature will not be found at more affordable rates.
Case Study: Algebra I
A group of eight students approached us over the summer of 2018 with the goal of placing out of Algebra I and into Geometry. Working in tandem with the families and school, we identified the courseware (Hawkes Learning) that would allow us to effectively cover an entire course over one summer.
We ended up meeting twice a week in a reverse classroom setting, assigning a number of chapters for the students to complete on their own during their time off. As instructors, we could monitor student progress so that when they came to class we were able to immediately begin working on the areas that gave students the most difficulty.
The majority of our students placed into Geometry and even continued meeting with us for the following three summers on the behest of the students and not the parents.
